There are moments in life that remind us how far we’ve come, and more importantly, who helped us get there.
Recently, during the Golden Jubilee Gala Dinner celebrating 50 years of Motithang Higher Secondary School, I had the privilege of reuniting with someone who played a pivotal role in shaping my future—my former principal, Mrs. Jigme Choden.
It had been more than ten years since we last met, yet seeing her again brought back countless memories of my school days. For many, a principal is a leader of a school. For me, she was a mentor, a guide, and someone who believed in me during a time when I needed it most.
Like many young people, I faced challenges and uncertainties while growing up. There were moments when I could have easily lost my direction. It was during those crucial years that Mrs. Jigme Choden stepped in with patience, wisdom, and genuine care. She helped bring me back on track, encouraged me to believe in my potential, and taught me lessons that extended far beyond the classroom.
Looking back today, I realize that many of the values that guide me as the CEO of Rigsel Real Estate—discipline, perseverance, integrity, and responsibility—were strengthened through the guidance of educators like her.
Our reunion was more than a simple meeting between a former student and a principal. It was a powerful reminder that behind every success story are individuals who dedicate their lives to helping others grow. The achievements we celebrate today are often built upon the encouragement, sacrifices, and belief of those who saw something in us before we saw it in ourselves.
As Motithang Higher Secondary School celebrated its remarkable 50-year legacy of excellence and empowerment, I found myself reflecting not only on my own journey but also on the countless students whose lives have been positively shaped by dedicated teachers and mentors.
To Mrs. Jigme Choden, and to all educators who invest their time, energy, and heart into nurturing future generations, I offer my deepest gratitude. Your impact cannot be measured by years alone. It lives on through the lives you help transform.
Thank you for believing in me when it mattered most.
Some people change the course of your life without ever asking for recognition. Meeting Mrs. Jigme Choden again reminded me that true leadership begins with believing in others.
And for that, I will always be grateful.
